The linear actuators in NIASA’s F/A series are electromechanical cylinders in which a round rod moves inside a second tube made of steel or aluminum.
The movement of the lifting rod is created by the combination of the spindle and nut pulling it along as they are driven by an electric motor. Power is transmitted from the motor either directly or via various gear and chain solutions.
Compared to visible spindles, their protection by means of an outer tube provides very good sealing, which allows operation in more aggressive environments with dust or liquids of any kind. In addition, the tube offers exceptional buckling load capacity compared to axial pressure loads.
This type of drive: Main advantages
This type of drive is the optimal solution for applications that require precise and safe movements, whether horizontal or vertical, and regardless of speed. The main advantages compared to other systems such as pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders are:
Better movement and positioning precision
Increased energy efficiency: Thanks to the high to very high performance of all individual parts, especially the ball bearing spindles, each with low transmission ratios and high speed.
Easier and faster installation: No hydraulic or pneumatic units are required, only the electric motor of the gearbox.
Better reliability and service life: Less maintenance thanks to mechanical robustness and simple design.
More compact design: Smaller with the same load capacity.
These linear actuators are available with axial load capacities from 3.5 kN to 86 kN.
